I've discovered the app called li.st and I must say, I've become obsessed! It's a combination of Tumblr and Twitter and yes, you're essentially just making lists. But it's really interesting how calm and organized you feel after you list reasons why you love something, why you're annoyed by something, or just write out your train of thought that is usually cut up after 160 characters. I strongly suggest the writers out there check out li.st--it's a great little writing exercise you can do quickly or in-depth. (And once you're there, find me @goddessonthego!)
I'm also ecstatic that it's been super hot lately, because that means no fussy layers and less clothes! Woot! I love just throwing my sandals on and grabbing my purse before heading out the door. DSW has a cute selection of sandals lately, and I could not resist grabbing these two babies:
Dolce Vita (my fave!) in taupe. You can find similar ones in many different colors here.
Summer means peasant shirts, but I've also got a crush on tassels and fresh, crisp, white linen (think: button downs in bright white). Any simple patterns for maxi dresses are a must, like so:
This one's from Ann Taylor, last summer, but I've got my eye on shirtdresses and off-the-shoulder dresses and tops!
Oh, and I must share these books: Love in Lowercase by Francesc Miralles and Eligible by Curtis Sittenfeld. Love in Lowercase is basically a romantic comedy waiting to be produced; it follows the life of this linguistics professor who's brilliant but keeps to himself, until an unlikely friend helps him open up to the reverberating world around him. Eligible is a modern day retelling of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice and it's my current favorite. Paired along with some lavender vanilla lotion to help me de-stress, it's been a great way for me to ease into sleep lately, especially since summer means wacky sleep schedules:
I hope you're all having a fabulous summer!!
